I love this space for weddings because you experience all the benefits of a “hotel wedding”, such as proximity to shops and restaurants, turn-key rentals, food, and bar service. However, it’s a small boutique hotel, so it feels intimate. Throughout the weekend you will undoubtedly run into your friends and family at the bar, or poolside, without fighting against an influx of hotel guests or large conferences.
If you love the Downtown Austin energy, but want a wedding that feels a little tucked away and private, South Congress Hotel will not disappoint.

F&B Minimums currently range from $18K - $24K for 2024 Fridays-Sundays and are exclusive of sales tax and service charge.
Our pricing in the Wedding SCOUT cost calculator is based on an F&B package that includes 3 passed hors d’oeuvres, full open bar for 5 hours, and a buffet dinner of two entrees, side and salad, and one dessert at $145 per person (plus taxes and fees).
Note, at 100 guests and a base F&B package at $145, you wouldn’t meet the F&B minimum for a peak season Friday or Saturday event. You would need add items such as late night snacks, or a premium bar to make the F&B minimum.

OUTDOORS
Outdoor Tenting
In the event of inclement weather, it is easy to tent the courtyard. You can host the ceremony inside, and then move guests to the courtyard while staff flip the ballroom for a reception. Alternatively, you can host your ceremony outside in the tent!
It is reasonable to budget $4,000 for a courtyard tent.
Heating + Cooling
It is common to rent portable coolers or mushroom heaters from your third-party rental company. This is only needed in the courtyard during certain times of the year.

- $150 per mushroom heaters (estimate 8 on average)
Sound + Lighting
Couples are encouraged to use a third party AV company, or their band or DJ, for ceremony sound and event lighting. The venue comes included with basic event lighting and AV.
